Obituary of Leonard Hungarter

Leonard "Bud" Hungarter, Jr., 76, of White Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Born on Poplar Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on August 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Leonard Hungarter and Marianne Francis. Bud graduated from Kingston High School in 1954, and upon turning 18 joined the United States Air Force, honorably serving in Korea. He later attended Glassboro State College, receiving a degree in education. After teaching and coaching for several years, Bud joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a special agent. He proudly served the Bureau for 23 years, retiring as supervisory special agent. Bud continued his career serving as a vice president of Wells Fargo Bank, officially retiring in 2010. Throughout his life Bud enjoyed spending time with friends and family, walking with his faithful dog Claudia, and vacationing at his beach house in Duck, North Carolina. Each day he also looked forward to visiting The Family YMCA for his workout. Bud was a proud member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, American Legion, Marine Corps League, FBI Agents Association, and The Family YMCA. In addition to his loving wife Lucie, he is survived by his children: Marc and his wife Meredith, Jeffrey and his wife Katie, Eric, Brian and his wife Katja, and Jillian and her husband Kyle. He is also survived by his eight siblings. With a special spirit and a zest for life, he will always be remembered in our hearts.
