Obituary of Eugene J. Giacomini

Eugene J. “Gino” Giacomini, 77, of White Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice House, Fredon, NJ.

A loving father and husband, Eugene was born on December 10, 1945 in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Mary Giacomini. Gino was raised in Newark, attended Summer Avenue School, Broadway Jr. High School and graduated from Barringer High School in 1964.

He was a Webelos Boy Scout and earned the Ad Altari Dei medal.  Gino proudly served in the NJ National Guard for nine years.

Gino was employed by the NJ Bell Telephone Company as a messenger, installer, repairman, and test desk technician for 27 years and retired in 1992.

In retirement, Gino drove the Hackettstown Shuttle Bus, was a carpenter’s helper, and was privileged to teach Child Assault Prevention (NJCAP) in Warren County grammar schools for 10 years.

Gino was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, bird house builder and planter of trees, flowers, and vegetables. He mostly enjoyed working on and around his property.

He was a member of Alcoholics anonymous and remained sober for 34 years.

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Kim Giacomini; a daughter, Karen Giacomini Staada and her husband Thomas; a son, Joseph Giacomini and his wife Rebecca; three grandchildren, Nicholas Staada, Natalie Staada and Thomas Spencer.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, February 3, 2023 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.
