Obituary of Dorothy May Neith

Dorothy M. Neith, 81, of White Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 16th, 2021. Born June 15, 1939 in Knowlton Township, NJ, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Isaac E. Read and Anna M. Siney Read. She was a graduate of Belvidere High School in Belvidere, NJ (Class of 1957) and Churchman Business School in Easton, PA.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Neith. She is survived by her daughter, Melody Harrison, of Belvidere, NJ, step-daughter, Judy Bell, of Oklahoma City, OK, two granddaughters, Jillian Musa (spouse, Sahr Musa) of New Bern, NC and Kristy Harrison, of Belvidere, NJ, and two great-granddaughters, Leah and Sophia Musa.

Dorothy was a member and actively involved in the Delaware Presbyterian Church in Delaware, NJ for many years. She served as the Clerk of the Session, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. For 25 years Dorothy worked for the Warren County Government. She retired from the county in 1994 as the Personnel Director. She enjoyed her time working for Warren County and made many friends along the way. She was well known for her kindness and helpful nature.

During retirement, Dorothy enjoyed many social activities including the Red Hats Society, Doll Club, and Warren County Community Singers. She loved spending time with her family and friends, including her cats at home. One of her favorite things to do was to go to breakfast or lunch at Thisilldous. You could often find her there, sitting in her favorite booth talking with her friends. She was actively involved with the Warren County Historical Society for many years and served on the board as their secretary. Dorothy enjoyed studying genealogy and researching her family’s history and was considered a Warren County expert. She loved this area and was proud to call it home.

Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, April 19, 2021 at MacFadden Funeral Home, Belvidere, NJ.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the funeral home. Interment at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Blairstown, NJ.
