Obituary of Jean M. Basel

Jean M. Basel, of the Brookfield section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, formerly of Carteret, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. Luke's Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ. Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry Johnson and Evelyn Hanley. Jean had been a bookkeeper for St. Georges Pharmacy, Colonia, NJ for many years before retiring. Jean was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. She had enjoyed reading, quilting and most of all her family. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Edward H. Basel; four children, Patricia Canovas and her husband Diego, Kathleen Perrine and her husband Edward, Theresa Grzankowski and her husband Edward, and Thomas Basel and his wife Jillian; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Sarah, Brandon, Candice, Jaclyn, Aubrey, Breann, and Randy; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Jaxson, and Perrin; a brother, Kenneth Johnson and his wife Barbara; a sister Evelyn Troland and her companion Jay Munier; two nephews; her caregiver, Donna Lukiyanets. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 28, 2018 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.
