Obituary of Catherine Ivel Rosser

Catherine Ivel Rosser, 95, of Belvidere, NJ, a resident of the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the care center. Born on October 1, 1917 in Rocksburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Ivel Hawk Hannon. Ivel had worked at the former Warren Acres Detention Home for many years before retiring. Later she had worked at MacFadden Funeral Home as a door person. Ivel was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Belvidere, NJ. She was a member the Belvidere Alumni Association, and the former Belvidere Soroptimist Club. She had also volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth who died on June 19, 2003, her daughter, Catherine R. Peters, who died on December 24, 2010, and a brother, Harry Hannon, who died earlier. Surviving are her devoted son-in-law, Joseph A. Peters; two grandchildren, Joseph A. Peters, Jr. and Lauren Peters; three sisters, Helen Stauugard, Tessie Korp, and Mary Sprouls. Contributions may be made in Ivel's memory to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 408 Third Street, Belvidere, NJ 07823.
