Obituary of Frances C. Steiger

Frances C. Steiger, 89, a resident of Gracedale, formerly of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Born on June 18, 1927 in Garfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Vincenza Tomasello.  She and her husband, the late Frank Steiger, who died on December 4, 2002, had lived in Saddlebrook, NJ before moving to Belvidere 51 years ago.

Frances was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. Frances was an accomplished seamstress, and especially loved to sew dolls. She also crocheted many beautiful afghans.
Her passion in life was taking great care of her family and home.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was predeceased by a son Frank Steiger, Jr..

Surviving are a son, John A. of Easton, PA; two daughters, Rose A. Jiorle Treible of Lopatcong Township, NJ and Susan Ostrander of Coaldale, PA; six grandchildren, Travis and Justin Jiorle, Adam, Brittani, Johnathon and Dakota Steiger; two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Benjamin Schell; four great-grandchildren, Errol and Nolan Jiorle, Natalie Rose Nixon, and Mason Adam Steiger.

A Christian Wake Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2017 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Belvidere, NJ.  Friends may call from 9:00 AM to the time of service at the funeral home.
