Condolences
So sorry to hear of "Ralphie's" passing. I am Ruth Hartung Stopp's daughter and remember Ralphie well. He was always in a good humor and smiling. We are related through his father and my maternal great grandmother, Rebecca Smith Swayze.
Sorry for your loss. He was a great husband and father. Sorry that we didn't make to the services. Love Paul and Linda
To the Ralph Smith Family
We wish to express our sincere sympathy to everyone in the Family. We all
enjoyed Ralphie over the years and we will surely miss him and his fun. He was
a good friend.
I'm so sorry to hear of Ralphie's passing. When I saw him a few years ago (it had been many, many years!) he knew immediately who I was and asked about the family. We were at the Hope School reunion and he told such wonderful stories - what a memory of people and events he had! The enthusiasm and interest he showed in people was extraordinary. He will be missed by his neighbors and friends I am sure, and I hope the love expressed by so many who's lives he touched in his special way gives you comfort at this time of sorrow. Thinking of you Mary, and your entire family, with affection.
To All; your husband, father will be deeply missed!! a friend for sure he was, Cant express how sorry we are.Sending lots of hugs and prayes- Raymond,Ann,John and Dale xo

I met Ralphie in the ACI truck stop in Delaware NJ about 8 years ago...I introduced myself as being Sharon Dickison's son. My father Roger and my mom both knew him well.. we sat and talked for over an hour that day, and each time I'd frequent Rosie's diner and he'd come in, Usually on his Goldwing..we'd sit and shoot the bull of trucking and years gone by.. always enjoyed my visits with him. He was truly a Great man, who will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Sorry to hear of your loss. "Ralphie" as I always knew him, was a great man. My son, Roger, Jr., only met him a few years ago, at the truck stop in Delaware when he was passing through with his truck. Ralphie remembered me and would sit and talk with Rog about the "olden days". RIP Ralphie! To my cousin "Bub" and Sandy, may you find peace in knowing he touched so many lives in a good way.
Clark & his entire staff will truly miss him. We have a lot of fond memories.
Upon seeing Ralph his first question was always how my mom was .A true gentleman.I'll miss him.
My deepest condolences to the entire family, especially to Murdie (Mary). Ralphie was such a large part of my life growing up. He helped me find myself by just being there. He knew when to talk, when to listen and when to just be my friend. I will always appreciate his relationship with my dad and know they will now be able sit sit around and talk , solving the world's problems in their own way. Please take comfort in knowing he was loved by many, many people and left a legacy that will be difficult to surpass. Again, my love, sympathy and thoughts are with you. God bless you all.
To the Family,
My fullest sympathy for your loss. After the liquor store was sold, I only saw Ralph occasionally, but he always responded with a smile and a handshake. Junior Buckenmeyer once told me (About 35 yrs ago) "Smitty's one of the good guys!" All I ever needed to hear. RIP Ralphy.
Condolences to the family of 'Smitty'.....One of the fondest people I can recall in my hometown area, Knowlton Twp.
Never, would I run across Smitty without him asking about my family, how everyone was doing, especially mom, after our dad passed in 1995......
I/we/our family grew up with
'Smitty', an icon, someone really to look up to.
You'll be missed 'Ralphy''
God Bless,
