Condolences
Our prayers and sympathy to the whole family. It was great to catch up with Warren (Mr B) in August 2009. He took our group to a great little restaurant in Belvidere--Wolf something. He said that it was his favorite place. We all talked and laughed and shared info about our families and we marveled how well he looked at 86 and how he still played golf. What a great man and a fun person. He will be missed and I will be sad not to send him a birthday card.
Warren was my boss below William G. Eppler at Picatinny Arsenal when I was stationed there in the Army in May, 1973. Warren was a truly dedicated engineering professional whose service was a credit to the US Army and he was highly regarded by the people in his group. He created an impression in his office of his quiet and thoughtful competence. I have him to thank for transitioning me from Army service to Department of the Army civilian service as an engineer. Because of this transition, I was able to retire later with a total of 35 years of Government service, for which I am grateful and thankful to him also. I last saw him in 2006 or so at the halfway house on the Picatinny Golf course. I remember he was always trying to get the Army to adapt the NICO-Pyrotechnik mortar training round and Warren's efforts to save money for the Army were appreciated by me at least. People of his sort will always be needed for the DoD and respected by his underlings. I will miss him.
Always loved talking when we met in condo / Condo dinners & monthly lunch with the men only. Will miss you so much.
My condolences to the Blittersdorf family. As a co-worker and friend, I
have known Warren for over 40 years. He exemplified the very best of
engineering skills at Frankford Arsenal and Picatinny over a long
and dedicated career in service to the men and women of US Army.
In an environment of continuing stress, Warren always provided a
calming influence with a smile and by displaying all the attributes of a
truly fine gentleman. Ed Ford, Picatinny retiree.
