Mary Lavinia Scioscia, 89 of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Born in Newark, NJ on February 18, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Sadie Collins Holland. Mary was the wife of the late Joseph A. Scioscia, who died on September 16, 1996. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. Mary had devoted her life to her children and family. Surviving are five children; Joseph "Chris" Scioscia and his wife Gerrie, Joel Scioscia and his wife Christine, Marianne Meyer-Garcia and her partner William Ciner, David Scioscia and his wife Carol, and Kathy Twardy and her husband Paul; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Ryan; two brothers, John Holland and Vincent Holland; a sister-in-law, Mary Holland. A daughter, Judith Anne McElroy, five brothers and two sisters had died earlier. Contributions are requested to be made in her memory to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860.
