Obituary of Gerhard E. Kaufmann

Gerhard E. Kaufmann, 82, of the Brookfield section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Born in Garfield, NJ on February 13, 1928, he was the son of the late Kurt and Elise Martha Gerhardt Kaufmann. Mr. Kaufmann was a metallurgical engineer for Picatinny Arsenal. Mr. Kaufmann was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Belvidere United Methodist Church, Belvidere, NJ and a member of the Karl D. Archer Post # 528 American Legion, White Township, NJ. Mr. Kaufmann was devoted to his family, enjoyed music and dancing, traveling and his best buddy; "Hunter" his dog. Surviving are his wife of 44 years Helen Kaye Kaufmann; a son, Bradley S. Coleman and his wife Patricia; two daughters, Gail Yapaolo and her husband Toby and Sharon Slevin and her husband John; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy and Hope Coleman, Keri Ford, Kristine Yapaolo, Jennifer, Heather and Christopher Slevin.
