Edward M. Tarrant, 73 of Hope Township, NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ. Born on September 16, 1936 in Morristown, NJ, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Helen E. Tarrant. Mr. Tarrant was a graduate of Seton Hall University. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Tarrant was a probation officer for Morris County Probation Department and served as the department head for the Family Division. Mr. Tarrant was an avid golfer, having shot a hole-in-one, twice. Mr. Tarrant was predeceased by his wife, Judith M. McGrath Tarrant, who died on November 11, 1985. Surviving are two sons, Edward Brian Tarrant and his wife Mari of Bushkill, PA, Andrew Michael Tarrant of Pocono Summit, PA; three daughters, Catherine of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Susan Roland and her husband Theodore of Boston, MA, and Elizabeth Tarrant and her partner Justin Trager of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Margaret Patterson of Morristown, NJ; four grandchildren, Micheal and Genis Tarrant, Ezra and Maeve Trager-Tarrant.
