Obituary of C. Nelson Dalrymple

C. Nelson "Nels" Dalrymple, 93 of Belvidere, NJ, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington, ME. Born on April 19, 1916 in Harmony Township, NJ, he was the son of the late Jesse W. and Ethel Hoff Dalrymple. Nels had been the co-owner of the former Belvidere News & Stationary Store, Belvidere, NJ. He had worked for Coopersmith Brothers Construction Company and had retired as a heavy equipment operator from Warren County Road Department at the age of 89. Mr. Dalrymple was a member of the S-Every Hunting Lodge, Maine; Life member of the Belvidere Ambulance Corps and Life member of the Good Will Fire Company; a member of Warren Lodge #13 F&AM, Belvidere; Tall Cedars, Forest #14 Warren County; and had been an assistant Boy Scout Leader, Belvidere. Nels had been predeceased by his brother Jesse W. Dalrymple. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Muriel F. Hartzell Dalrymple; four children, Bonnie Hopkins of East Stroudsburg, PA, Daniel Dalrymple and his wife Lynda of Harmony, NJ, Judith Dalrymple-Brandt and her husband Gene Brandt, Jr. of Belvidere, NJ, and Bradford Dalrymple and his wife Kimberly of Harmony, NJ; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
