Obituary of Cora Belle McLain

Cora Belle McLain, 84, of Palmer Township, PA, formerly of Buttzville, NJ, passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2009 at Easton Hospital, Wilson Borough, PA. Mrs. McLain with her late husband, Robert J. McLain had operated McLain Upholstery, Buttzville, NJ for over 30 years before retiring in 2001. Born on March 11, 1924 in White Township, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nina Quick Hopkins. Mrs. McLain had lived in Buttzville for many years before retiring and moving to Palmer Township. Mrs. McLain was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Warren Chapter #13, Belvidere, NJ, Mt. Lake Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Italian-American Social Club, Phillipsburg, NJ and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Brown and Lynch Post, Palmer Township. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. McLain; a grandson, David Ackerknecht; a son-in-law, Frank Reilly. Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Reilly of Springhill, FL, Constance Rhoda and her husband James of Pinellas Park, FL; three grandchildren, Valerie Holjes and her husband Rick of Palmer Township, Mark Whiteside of Buttzville, and Beverly Ackerknecht of Pinellas Park, FL; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Ryan Holjes, Ashley and Shane Ackerknecht.
