Obituary of Edgar F. Beers

Edgar F. Beers, Sr., 66, of Knowlton Township, NJ, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Mr. Beers was a machinist for Hedges and Brother, Washington, NJ. Previously he had worked for Rudl Fencing, Glen Gardner, NJ for over 27 years. Born on September 3, 1941 in White Township, NJ, he was the son of the late Edgar L. and Dorothy F. Yetter Beers. Edgar had served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1969 as a Tank Commander in Company A, 1st Battalion 102nd Armor Division. Edgar was a member of the Washington Township Warren County Fire Company and served as Chief in 1971 and 1972. He was a member of the American Legion and a life member of National Rifle Association. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid gardener and collector of farming and train memorabilia. Surviving are his wife, Judith L. Werner Beers; two sons, Edgar F. Beers, Jr. and his wife Holly of Phillipsburg, NJ and Robert Beers of Phillipsburg, NJ; a sister, Anna Howell of Washington, NJ; a grandson, Ryan; a granddaughter, Brandi; a nephew, Lee Smith.
