Donald W. Croom, 73, of Belvidere, NJ passed away suddenly on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. Mr. Croom was the head custodian for the Belvidere School district for over 20 years before retiring. Previously, he was the parts manager for 20 years at the former Allegers American Motors in Belvidere. Born on January 10, 1935 in Olyphant, PA, he was the son of the late William and Ann Jenkins Croom. Mr. Croom had lived in the Belvidere area for over 35 years. He was a 1952 graduate of West Side High School, Newark, NJ, and had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Croom had attended the First Baptist Church of Belvidere. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Audrey Alleger Croom; a twin sister, Doris Fluta of Brick, NJ; several nephews and nieces. Two sisters, Evelyn Judge and Jane Fluta had died earlier.
