Sylvester “Lester” L. Connell, 94, of the Brookfield section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully Friday September 29, 2006 at his home. Mr. Connell was the secretary-treasurer of the Teamster Union Local 816 New York City, NY, for over 35 years before retiring in 1974. Born in New York City, NY on March 25, 1912, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Josephine Ward Connell. Mr. Connell had lived in Vero Beach, FL for 28 years before moving to Belvidere two years ago. Mr. Connell had served in the Navy during WWII. Mr. Connell was predeceased by his first wife, Frances Drodge Connell who died in 1972. Surviving are his loving wife of 28 years, Rose Annunziata Connell; two brothers, Vincent of Hicksville, L.I., NY and Edward of Albany, NY; an adopted daughter, Mary Jo Schnieder.
