Chandler C. Washer, 92, of Harmony Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday September 22, 2006 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. Born on July 9, 1914 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Chandler C. and Margaret Ober Washer. Mr. Washer had lived in Old Lyme, CT and Chatham, NJ before moving to Harmony Township 12 years ago. Mr. Washer was a mechanical engineer and V.P. of Sheifield Tube Company, New London, CT before retiring in 1981. Mr. Washer was a 1936 graduate of Duke University, Durham, NC. Mr. Washer was predeceased by his wife the former Mary Virginia Arkenberg, who died on November 7, 2000. Surviving are a son, Peter C., Harmony, NJ; a daughter, Ann M. Mitchell, Cambridge, MA; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Contributions are requested to be made in his memory to the charity of one�(TM)s choice.
