My Mom
What words can describe what my Mother is to me.
Always smiling and Cheerful is what I'll always see.
Getting a "Just Because" card in the mail.
No thought of herself, wanting her kids to prevail.
So loving and selfless in all she would do.
Sending poems signed "From Helen Steiner Rice and me too".
Never wanting to burden her kids with her pain.
Seeing the sunshine even through the rain.
Always said rose colored glasses she did wear.
Never a bad thing about anyone did you hear.
My Mother, my anchor, to me that she is.
With a heart so full always wanting to give.
I am at peace and I will not grieve.
Even though I didn't want her to leave.
For you see my Mom and I truly know.
I will see her loving face when its time for me to go.
You were my best friend. I love you deeply.
