Obituary of Anne Marie Pozarycki
AnneMarie Pozarycki, age 88 years, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025, at Hunterdon Care Center, Flemington, NJ. Born on October 20, 1936, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Kopec) Vineski. She grew up in Harrison, NJ, and had formerly resided in Carteret, NJ. In retirement, Anne moved to Clark, NJ for several years and then White Township, NJ.
Anne's dedication to education began with her own studies at Montclair State, where she earned her degree in Education. She began her teaching career at Linden High School, Linden, NJ, before joining Mother Seton Regional High School in Clark, NJ, where she taught from 1961 through 1971.
Demonstrating remarkable determination, Anne pivoted her career while raising four children. She initially worked as an Executive Assistant at Herman's Sporting Goods while simultaneously pursuing post-graduate studies in law and real estate. Her strong business acumen and dedication led to her advancement to the Corporate Real Estate Department, where she negotiated leases for Herman's Sporting Goods stores throughout the 1980s. She later brought her expertise to Lechter's Housewares, serving in the same capacity until her retirement in 1999.
Throughout her life, Anne was known for her welcoming nature, opening her home not only to family but to her children's friends as well. Affectionately known as "Mrs. Poz," she strongly believed in fostering strong family and friendship networks. She was a no-nonsense, straightforward, and independent person who instilled these same values in her children.
In her later years, Anne devoted herself to her role as grandmother, dedicating countless hours to helping raise her grandchildren, creating lasting memories that her family cherishes deeply.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Edward A. Pozarycki, who passed away in 1992. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Sime of Bedford, TX; son Christopher Pozarycki (Darren Muso); daughter Susan (Pozarycki) Parker (Christopher); son Edward J. Pozarycki (Gretchen); son Matthew Pozarycki (Candice). She also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren: Demi Oram, Theresa Parker, Tyler Pozarycki, Jordan Pozarycki, Sadie Pozarycki, Juliette Warren, Parker Warren, Mason Pozarycki; and one great-grandchild, Declan Oram.
Anne faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and resilience. She loved her family beyond measure, and her legacy lives on through the values she instilled, the strength she demonstrated, the memories she created, and the love she shared generously. Anne will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
