Obituary of Daniel P. Alampi
After a life well lived, filled with love, laughter, and joy, Daniel Alampi passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. He was in Hospice care at Masonic Villages, Elizabethtown, PA, and was surrounded by the love of his family.
Dan was born in Hazelton, PA on October 23, 1944, to Cosimo and Irene Alampi. He grew up in West Pittston, PA, graduating from West Pittston High School. After graduating from Mansfield University, he began his long career in education. He met his wife, Linda, while teaching in Hackettstown, NJ. After moving to Belvidere, NJ, Dan continued his career of 30 years at Belvidere High School where he was a Special Education teacher and Athletic Director. He retired in 1998.
Dan and Linda enjoyed their retirement traveling, cruising, and antiquing. They also spent several years as snowbirds, spending their winters in central Florida. They recently moved from the Nazareth area to East Petersburg, PA to be closer to family. Dan’s greatest joys in life were his five grandchildren: Cameron, Megan, and Katie Adams, Samantha, and Danielle Alampi.
Dan is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Serfass) Alampi, son Michael and daughter in-law Kim Alampi of Marietta PA, daughter Melissa and son in-law Dave Adams of Horseheads, NY, his sister in-law Sherry Heinbockel of Delta Junction, AK, 5 grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his only brother, Paul, and his brother in-law Louis Heinbockel.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, March 23, from 1:00PM-3:00PM at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick St. Belvidere NJ. A private interment will take place a later date.
