Obituary of Linda Carol Collins
Linda Carol Collins of Oxford, New Jersey, was called home to Heaven on February 22, 2024.
She was born in Paterson, New Jersey to Carl and Jennie Beattie. Linda grew up in West Paterson with her two older brothers and extended family in close proximity.
Linda met the love of her life, Sandy, on a blind date. She spent the next 47 years married to her best friend. Together they grew in faith, built a family, restored a 220 year old farmhouse, went on numerous camping and traveling adventures, and created epic gardens. Linda found a place to share her gift of organization and efficiency working at Warren County Community College until her retirement. She was an active and dedicated volunteer at St. Rose of Lima Church for decades. She shared her love of God and gift of music by singing and playing the guitar at Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses for over 25 years. She was often thanked for not just playing, but praying her music. Linda relished being a part of the choir at St. Rose and St. Patrick Church in Belvidere.
Linda had a quiet, deep, abiding faith in the goodness and love of God. She found joy and fellowship participating in the spirituality and mission of Anawim community, where spent her Wednesday evenings at Eucharistic Adoration and shared her gift of music at their monthly masses. Linda comforted many singing at funerals in the church. She was a regular volunteer at the Blue Army Shrine in Asbury. When she wasn't spending time with her church family, Linda could most often be found creating beauty in her gardens and spending time with Sandy, her kids, and her grandkids.
Linda loved her family with her whole heart. She will always be the beloved wife to Alexander (Sandy) Collins, and treasured Mom to Katherine (Collins) Stuart, Thomas Stuart, Rachel (Collins) Keenan, Christopher Keenan, and David Collins. She was the best Lola to Alexa, Lydia, Raegan and Matthew Stuart in addition to Ryan, Devon and Liam Keenan. Linda leaves a legacy of patient love, an enduring faith and a life well lived.
Linda saw death as a moment of passing into eternal joy with God. She would love for you to celebrate her life wearing colors that bring you happiness.
