Obituary of Margaret Thompson
Margaret Thompson, most recently of Belvidere, NJ but otherwise a long-term resident of Kearny, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Margaret was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. She was born on August 6, 1939, in The Garngad, a district in Glasgow, Scotland, later renamed Royston. Margaret is predeceased by her parents George and Catherine (Kate) Thompson, and by her brothers John, George, and Thomas. She is survived by her sister Mary Campbell of Belvidere, NJ and her brother James Thompson of Hogganfield, Glasgow, Scotland, as well as by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, in the US, Scotland, and Australia.
Margaret moved to a care home in May 2023 after being cared for by her sister, Mary, for several years. Dementia is scary but Margaret always knew she was safe, she was loved, and she was beautiful. She was a gentle, modest, and spiritual woman. Her generosity was unparalleled, and her kindness was her greatest gift to everyone who knew her. She gave so much to so many, and the world is a better place for having had our Margaret in it.
