Thomas Douglas, 90, of Belvidere NJ, passed away on December 21, 2023.
Tom was born in Ledgewood NJ and attended Roxbury High School, where he met his wife of 69 years, Helen Douglas (Fischer).
Tom served in the Navy as a parachute rigger from 1952 to 1956.
He built a home in Chester NJ, where he raised his family. Tom retired from AT&T with over 40 years of service.
Tom is lovingly known as Mr. Fix-It, as he was able to fix almost anything. Anyone who
knew him was touched by his gentle, kind and patient ways. He always put others before
himself, and loved helping friends, family and neighbors. Tom enjoyed skiing, camping, hiking,
and was an exceptional athlete. He was a very involved family man who took great pride in his
children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Sean Jarvis.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Pattie Douglas-Jarvis and Eileen Douglas-Baker; grandchildren, Ryan, Teghan and Liam; great-granddaughter, Emberly, son-in-law, Wayne, and former son-in-law Richard.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
